We have overcome many of the obstacles associated with previous travel guitars. The Rambler tunes like a regular guitar using standard strings. The tuners are easily accessible at the end of the body (not buried in the middle). We use expensive locking tuners, specially designed humbuckers, and a solid Canadian Maple body. The Strobel is designed and built to be a "main" axe; that happens to come apart and fits in a briefcase. And it stays in tune after you assemble it - neck attachment is similar to a four bolt Stratocaster - it doesn't move.
