The serial numbers on these amps can be seen by simply removing the four screws that hold the top panel on. The numbers are stamped into the top of the large heatsink. The last 2 digits in the serial number indicate the year the amp was made.

But this doe snot seem to make sense for this serial number [SN 128-5257] written on the external heat sink of this amp:
