Walter Woods
information site Walter focussed on compact bass
amplifiers.
Talk Bass thread about Walter Woods From this thread
you can
date Walter Woods amplifiers:
The serial numbers on these amps
can be seen by simply removing the four screws that hold the top
panel on. The numbers are stamped into the top of the large
heatsink. The last 2 digits in the serial number indicate the
year the amp was made.
But this doe snot seem to make
sense for this serial number [SN 128-5257] written on the
external heat sink of this amp:

Wasp
 |
Wasp amps were built in New Zealand and
Australia. For the full story including a communication from
Ian Johnstone,
founder of WASP in 1967 see
Ozvalveamps
The Saints guitarist Ed Kuepper
used a WASP amp with EDA speaker cabs live in 1977 as seen on a
film clip on ABC Rage program.
One amp I saw on ebay had the
following inscription on the back "Manufactured by Wasp Ind Pty
Ltd under license to holden consolidated ltd New Zealand.
