John Kelly originally worked in the Selmer factory Service/Repair Department.  During the late 1960's, he left Selmer to set up his own valve amp business.  His son, also called John, worked in the business, together with one or two other ex-Selmer employees. Kendrick Amplifiers

On the amps, we will get 100 chassis made up and by the time they are sent to the buffer, then the plater, then we bring them back and silk screen them - well, by then they are all jumbled up. We might build serial number 600 before serial number 501. So there is no rhyme or reason to it. And to compound matters, we stopped using serial numbers on amps a few years ago.
