After Leedy had been bought by
Conn in 1929, Mr. Leedy decided to start another company to
provide work for his former employees and support his family.
U. G. Leedy and his employee Cecil Strupe (who would later work
for WFL, Gretsch, and Ludwig), started L&S in 1930. In 1931 U.G.
Leedy died, and left the company to his son E.H. (Hollis) Leedy.
Strupe left L&S in 1936 and H. Leedy (lawyer by trade) closed
the company shortly after to continue his legal career. [Source:
